J. ALAN DAY is Chief Economist, Investment Consultant and Value Fund
Manager for the Stratevest Group, an investment and asset management
firm that serves the marketplace from 20 regional offices in Maine,
Vermont, New Hampshire, eastern New York and Massachusetts. Stratevest
is a member company of Banknorth Group, Inc. Mr. Day analyzes the global
and domestic economies for the company, consults on and manages
portfolios and supervises the value-style equity fund ($140 million),
and the foreign fund ($25 million). Mr. Day serves as Chairman of BFA-
Fairfax (Vermont) School Board. He is past Chairman of the Northwestern
Medical Center (Vermont) Board of Trustees. Mr. Day has more than 20
years of investment management and commercial banking experience. He
earned a BA in History from Ohio State University and graduated from the
American Bankers Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of
