Thomas M. Ray is the President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of Directors of CoreSite Realty Corporation. He has been responsible for CoreSite's activities since its founding in 2001. Prior to the company’s IPO, Mr. Ray also served as a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, focusing upon opportunities for the firm's real estate funds and leading those funds' activities in the data center sector. He brings over 20 years of experience making and managing investments and businesses throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Carlyle and CoreSite, Mr. Ray held roles of increasing responsibility with the Security Capital Group of companies (ProLogis, CarrAmerica and predecessors to Archstone-Smith). Prior to that he practiced real estate and transactional law. Mr. Ray received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, where he was a Longhorn Scholar. He received a J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law and a B.S. in business administration with emphasis in finance from the University of Denver, where he was a Hornbeck Scholar.
