Mark Boxer is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer for Cigna Corp., and assumed the role of Chief Information Officer in April 2011. He has executive leadership responsibility for driving Cigna's worldwide technology strategy and aligning it with the business strategy and the needs of customers, partners and employees. Mr. Boxer has been recognized as one of Computerworld's Premier 100 Leaders. Before becoming Chief Information Officer, he was Cigna’s Senior Vice President, National Service Technology, and assumed the role of Chief Information Officer at Healthsource, leading its integration into the company. Before Cigna, Mr. Boxer was the Group President, Government Health Care, for ACS/Xerox and Global Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Xerox Corporation. He’s also served as Chief Information Officer and Chief Operations Officer at WellPoint, as well as Head of Corporate Strategy and Chairman of the board for the WellPoint subsidiary company, Administar Services. Mr. Boxer also held senior management roles with Hewlett-Packard. He holds a doctor of science degree in global public health from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. He earned his MBA from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in information systems from Drexel University. He holds a B.S. in engineering and a B.A. in physics from the University of Hartford.
