Michael J. Garberding is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Crosstex Energy, L.P. (XTEX) and Crosstex Energy, Inc. (XTXI). Previously, Mr. Garberding was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and before that Senior Vice President of business development and finance. He has more than 20 years of financial and accounting experience in the energy industry. Mr. Garberding has played a key role in helping Crosstex successfully execute its business growth strategy and deliver value to investors. He is an instrumental member of the executive management team, helping to direct the transformation of Crosstex’s asset base into the natural gas liquids, crude oil and condensate businesses and diversification into fee-based projects. Prior to joining Crosstex in 2008, Mr. Garberding was assistant treasurer at TXU Corp., where he focused on structured transactions such as project financing for coal-plant development and the sale of TXU Gas Company. He also was involved in the $45 billion sale of TXU Corp. to a group of private buyers led by KKR, Goldman Sachs and TPG. Previously, Mr. Garberding was a member of several structured commodity, derivative and project finance teams when he worked for Enron North America as a finance manager. He also was an audit manager at Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Garberding earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
