Richard T. Beard has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of People’s Utah Bancorp since January 2006, and as President and Chief Executive officer of Bank of American Fork since January 2005. He has served as a director of both entities since 2004. Mr. Beard practiced law from 1978 to 2004. He has been a member and Chairman of the board of directors of Western Independent Bankers, based in San Francisco, California, and is currently the Chairman Emeritus for the year 2016 to 2017. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Utah Bankers Association. He serves as a director on the board of the Utah Community Reinvestment Corporation, funding low-income housing in Utah, and the board of the Utah Department of Financial Institutions, appointed by the governor of Utah. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Utah.
