HOWARD A. SILVER has been President and Chief Operating Officer of
Equity Inns, Inc., since June 1998. Prior to that, he served as
Executive Vice President of Finance, Secretary, Treasurer and Chief
Financial Officer of Equity Inns from May 1994 and has been a Certified
Public Accountant since 1980. From 1978 to 1985, Mr. Silver was with the
national accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. From 1985 to 1987, Mr.
Silver was the Vice President of Finance of Fogelman Properties, a
developer and manager of apartment complexes across the Southeast, and
from 1987 to 1992, Mr. Silver was employed as a Certified Public
Accountant with the national accounting firm of Ernst & Young. Mr.
Silver holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Memphis. Mr.
Silver is currently a Board member of Equity Inns, Hatchett Hospitality,
a national hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment provider, and
