HeRBERT D. MONTGOMERY is the Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of Media Arts Group, Inc., and has been the
Secretary of the Board of Directors since July 2000. Prior to
this position, Mr. Montgomery was the Executive Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Industry Standard
Communications, Inc., publisher of The Industry Standard
magazine. He has served as the Senior Vice President, Chief
Financial Officer and Treasurer of Cotelligent, Inc. Mr.
Montgomery has specialized in high growth, high technology
environments, taken three companies public and has served as
Chief Financial Officer of several technology and services
companies over the last 20 years. Mr. Montgomery is a highly
experienced financial executive, with a reputation as a key
strategist and incisive decision-maker, as well as having high
personal integrity. Mr. Montgomery also served as Senior Vice
President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Guy F.
Atkinson Company, an engineering and construction concern, where
he provided guidance through a workout and divestiture situation.
Prior to joining Atkinson, he served in the same capacity at
Harding Lawson Associates, Inc., an international engineering
consulting firm. Over a five-year period at Harding Lawson, in
addition to his responsibilities as the company's financial
executive, he led the development of the company's infrastructure
and was actively involved in the company's acquisition
activities. In addition to his current Board of Directors
position, he has served on several Boards, including: Standard
Media International, Cotelligent, Guy F. Atkinson Company,
Harding Lawson Associates, and PLM International. He has been a
long-time member of the Financial Executives International. Mr.
Montgomery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a
Master of Science degree in Business Administration from
