Gregory Scott McComb is President and CEO of Heartland BancCorp, located in Gahanna, Ohio. Heartland Bank currently has $540 million in assets and 11 branches in the Columbus Metro Market Area. Mr. McComb is an Entrepreneur who joined banking after running several of his own businesses. When he was 20 years old and while attending The Ohio State University, Mr. McComb started a security system and installation company, then sprouted a locksmith service, and also started a construction inspection and cleaning business. In 1998 he sold his security system entity and became Vice President of Vector Security, then the 11th largest security system provider in the United States. Looking for new and exciting ventures, in 1999 Mr. McComb joined Heartland as the Director of Internet Banking, charged with launching the first Internet bank offering by a community bank in the Columbus, Ohio, area. Mr. McComb was then made part of the senior management team for Heartland BancCorp, serving all aspects of the bank as Senior Vice President in charge of customer relationship management. He was then promoted to EVP/COO in 2004. Mr. McComb has a B.A. in sociology from The Ohio State University, and he is a graduate of The Ohio School of Banking, The OBA Leadership Institute and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He has served on the board of the Westerville Education Foundation, the Grove City Foundation, the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, Heartland Mortgage Corporation and the Ohio Bankers League Bank Pac board of directors, among other local and national organizations.
