Harry M. Jansen Kraemer Jr. – Baxter International Inc (bax)

HARRY M. JANSEN KRAEMER, JR., became CEO of Baxter International, Inc., in January 1999, and assumed the additional responsibility of Chairman of Baxter's Board of Directors in January 2000. Mr. Kraemer joined Baxter in 1982 as Director of Corporate Development. His career at Baxter has included senior positions in both domestic and international operations. In 1993, he was named Senior Vice President and CFO, responsible for all financial operations, business development, communications, and European operations. Over the next several years, he assumed additional responsibility for the company's Renal, Medication Delivery, Japan, and Fenwal businesses. In April 1997, Mr. Kraemer was named President of Baxter International Inc. Before joining Baxter, Mr. Kraemer worked for Bank of America in corporate banking, and for Northwest Industries in planning and business development. Active in business, education and civic affairs, Mr. Kraemer serves on the Boards of Directors of Comdisco, Inc., Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, Science Applications International Corporation, and is on the Dean's Advisory Board of Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Lawrence University and Northwestern University. He is a member of the Business Roundtable, the Business Council, the Healthcare Leadership Council, the Chicago Club, and the Commercial Club of Chicago. For his outstanding leadership and service, he received the 1996 Schaffner Award from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mr. Kraemer graduated Summa cum laude from Lawrence University in Wisconsin in 1977 with Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Economics. He received a Master's of Management degree in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1979. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Profile
