H. ERIC BOLTON, JR., is President and Chief Operation Officer of Mid-
America Apartment Communities, Inc. He is a 20-year veteran of the real
estate industry, having served in a wide range of both operational and
financial management positions. Mr. Bolton has served as President and
Chief Operating Officer for Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc.,
since November of 1997. Mr. Bolton joined Mid-America Apartments in
April 1994 as Director of New Development, shortly after Mid-America's
initial public offering, and has been a member of the management team
through the company's aggressive growth period from early 1994 to
present. Mr. Bolton has extensive multi-family real estate experience in
the areas of new development, acquisitions/dispositions, property
repositioning and property management. Prior to joining the Mid-America
organization, Mr. Bolton was with the Trammell Crow Company in Dallas,
TX, for seven years, serving as Executive Vice-President and Chief
Financial Officer for Trammell Crow Asset Management. Mr. Bolton worked
in a variety of roles within the real estate and financial services
industry in the Texas market prior to his time with the Trammell Crow
organization. Mr. Bolton serves on the Board of Directors of the
National Multi-Family Housing Council and is active within the Memphis
community, having served as Board member for the Memphis Botanical
Garden and a Partner Advisor to the Mid-South Minority Business Council.
Mr. Bolton's educational background includes an MBA with a concentration
in Finance and Real Estate and an undergraduate degree in Accounting. He
also holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant and an
Associate of Risk Management. Mr. Bolton is a native of Memphis, TN,
where he currently resides with his wife, Teresa, and their teenage son,
