GREGORY T. MUTZ is President and Chief Executive Officer of UICI,
a Dallas, Texas-based insurance and financial services holding
company focusing primarily on life, health and senior market
insurance as well as student finance activities. Mr. Mutz is the
Founder and the Chairman of the Board of AMLI Residential
Properties Trust, a multifamily REIT. Mr. Mutz also founded AMLI
Commercial Properties Trust, a privately held office and
industrial REIT, and built this real estate company into a $300
million business prior to its sale in 2001. He also serves on the
Board of Trustees of the ABN AMRO Family of Mutual Funds. Mr.
Mutz is a member of the Board of Visitors at the McDermott Center
at DePauw University. Prior to founding AMLI, Mr. Mutz was an
officer with White, Weld & Co., Incorporated (1976-1978) and
associated with the law firm of Mayer, Brown & Platt (1973-1976),
a Chicago-based law firm. He received a BA from DePauw University
in 1967 and a Juris Doctor Degree of Law from the University of
Michigan Law School in 1973. Mr. Mutz is admitted to practice law
in the state of Illinois. He served in Vietnam as in Infantry
