FRED H. VOLLBEER, President and CIO of Preferred Yield, Inc. was born in
Davenport, Iowa. He attended college at the University of Iowa,
graduating in 1966 with a BBA in Management. He pursued postgraduate
studies in economics and accounting at the University of Virginia while
serving in the Air Force and stationed at the Pentagon in Washington,
D.C. In 1971 he took the position of Controller-CFO with L.A. Clarke &
Son, Inc. in Washington, D.C. In 1976 he became Personal Business
Manager for Mr. Roy Carver, Founder of Bandag, Inc. In 1982 after Mr.
Carver's death, he became Business Manager for Mr. J.B. Fuqua, founder
of Fuqua Industries. In 1983 he began his own investment advisory firm,
Preferred Yield, Inc. Married, with one son, he enjoys hunting, fishing,
