FLOYD L. ENGLISH has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Andrew
Corporation, an international telecommunications equipment supplier,
since July 1983. He was named Chairman of the Board of Andrew
Corporation in September 1994. From January 1982 to July 1983 he was
President and Chief Operating Officer and was elected to the Board of
Directors in 1982. He joined the Orland Park, Illinois-based company in
1980. He graduated from California State University at Chico with a
Bachelor's degree in Physics and earned the Master's and PhD degrees in
Physics from Arizona State University in 1962 and 1965, respectively. In
1973 he joined Collins Radio Company, Newport Beach, California
(acquired by Rockwell International in 1974) as Director of Marketing
for the Semiconductor Components Division, and a year later was
appointed General Manager. He resigned in 1975 to form Darcom Inc., a
data telemetry company, and to serve as President. During his tenure,
Darcom was merged with Farinon Corporation. The year prior to joining
Andrew Corporation he was a technical and marketing consultant. Dr.
English is on the Board of Directors of The Executives' Club of Chicago,
the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy Fund for Advancement of
Education, and the International Engineering Consortium. He is a Trustee
of the Andrew Profit Sharing Trust and is the author of numerous
