ERIC M. TEAL is Chief Investment Officer of the Capital Management Group at
First Citizens Bank, a position he has held since the start of 2003. His
responsibilities include the investment management and oversight of
approximately $7 billion in assets under management. He oversees asset
allocation, overall investment strategy, and equity and fixed income portfolio
management for the bank and its clients. He is responsible for actively
conducting and overseeing research and management of the Structured Equity
investment products. Prior to joining First Citizens, he served as Director of
Equities, managing active investment strategies for Wachovia's mutual fund
company, Evergreen Investments. He began his career responsible for the
management and oversight of the quantitative index and enhanced index products
for Evergreen. Mr. Teal received his BA degree in Economics and International
Studies from Rhodes College and his MBA in Finance from the University of
Memphis, where he received a scholarship in the area of Investments and Finance.
He also attended the London School of Economics. He is frequently seen and
quoted in the media on the markets and investing and is a guest speaker at many
seminars around the country on topics facing the institutional investor. Profile
TWST: Eric, tell us something about your responsibilities at MeridianInvestment Company.
Mr. Teal: I manage over $4 billion in equity assets for Meridian; $3
billion is actively managed and
