ELLIOT L. SCHLANG is Managing Director of LJR Great Lakes Review, a
proprietary research product, specializing in medium-sized regional
investment opportunities for institutional clients. Previously, Mr.
Schlang was an Executive Vice President of Kemper Securities Group,
Inc., Prescott, Ball & Turben Division, where he founded the Great Lakes
Review, and a Senior Vice President at Kidder, Peabody before its merger
into PaineWebber and was a Senior Vice President at Hancock
Institutional Equity Services. Mr. Schlang was a Director and a member
of the Executive and Management Committees of Prescott. He also served
as a Partner in Charge of the Institutional Department and Partner in
Charge of the Corporate Finance Department before the sale of the firm
to Kemper Corporation. He was the co-founder of the firm's institutional
research, marketing, and trading divisions. Mr. Schlang is a graduate of
Yale University and the Harvard Business School. He is past-President of
the Yale Alumni Association of Cleveland, a member of the Yale Alumni
Scholarship Committee of Cleveland and the Investment Committee of the
Harvard Business School of Cleveland. Mr. Schlang serves as a Trustee of
the Cleveland Museum of Art, whose Corporate Council and Circle
Leadership Committee he founded and chaired. In recognition of his
efforts, the National Society of Fund Raising Executives named him to
the 1996 Honor Roll of Philanthropists. As a Trustee of the Cleveland
Institute of Music, Mr. Schlang chaired its Long-range Planning and
Investment Committees. He is also a Trustee of the Menorah Park
Foundation. He is a member of the Investment Committees of United Way
Services and the Welfare Federation of Cleveland. Mr. Schlang previously
served as a member of the Board of Laurel School, an independent
secondary school for girls and of Big Brothers of Greater Cleveland. His
corporate Directorships include Edward Howard & Co. Mr. Schlang, whom
'Corporate Cleveland' magazine recently referred to as the 'Prophet of
Profit', is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Cleveland
Society of Security Analysts. Peter Lynch acknowledges him in 'One Up
on Wall Street' and Richard Maturi in 'Stock Picking.' He was recognized
by the 'Institutional Investor' magazine's All-America Research Team in
its annual poll for his coverage of emerging growth companies and
received the Distinguished Service Award in Investment Education from
the National Association of Individual Investors. He has been the
subject of feature articles in 'FORBES Magazine', 'The New York Times',
'Chicago Tribune', 'Kiplingers Personal Finance Magazine', 'Fortune',
'MONEY', 'Barron's' and other financial periodicals, and has often
appeared as a featured speaker of the National Association of Investment
Clubs. He has appeared as a special guest on Wall $treet Week. A native
