EDGARDO J. LERTORA is Vice President of Corporate Communications and
Brand Strategy for AT&T Latin America Corp., the new publicly traded
telecommunications company with competitive operations in Argentina,
Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru. Mr. Lertora's international business
career spans more than 25 years in sales, marketing, corporate
communications and public affairs throughout Latin America, the Asia
Pacific region and Africa, with a special focus in cross-cultural
communications. He has held a variety of executive management positions
within AT&T Corp. and DuPont Corp. Mr. Lertora came to AT&T Latin
America from AT&T Corp., where he was Corporate Communications Vice
President for AT&T's Caribbean & Latin America region. He joined AT&T
Corp. in August 1992 and held a variety of positions over the years. He
also held the position of AT&T President ' Puerto Rico, where he lead
the development and execution of the country's strategic business plan.
Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Lertora enjoyed an extensive communications
career with DuPont. He started with DuPont in 1968 and held corporate
headquarters and international assignments. Mr. Lertora rose through the
ranks, establishing the marketing communications function in South
America and Mexico and reorganizing the communications, public affairs
and public relations functions in the Asia Pacific region. He also
worked extensively with international agencies, including McCann
Erickson, J. Walter Thompson, Lintas, BBDO, Burson-Marsteller, Young &
Rubicam and several other local agencies, developing a strong
understanding of agency networks and agency relations. Mr. Lertora has
been a member of the Board of Directors of AT&T Puerto Rico, AT&T Virgin
Islands, AT&T Latin America and Netstream in Brazil. He is currently a
Board member of the Florida-Argentina Chamber of Commerce and a member
of the Florida-Brazil Chamber of Commerce. A native Argentinean, Mr.
Lertora is a graduate of the Universidad Catlica Argentina where he
earned a degree in Business Administration. He has also done post-
