DR RICHARD PETER DIXEY has a BA (Hons) in Physiological Sciences (Oxford, 1973), a PhD in Biophysics (London, 1984) and an MSc in History and Philosophy of Science (London, 1988). He founded the Bioelectronic Research Unit at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London in 1979 and became its Director in 1984. In 1990 he became a Founding Director of Phytopharm Limited and its Vice Chairman in 1992. In 1994 he became Chief Executive Officer of the company and led its flotation as Phytopharm Plc in 1996.
