Douglas Neugold became President of ATMI, Inc. in May 2000, with primary
responsibility for ATMI's operations. He had previously held the
position of Executive Vice-President for the company's Materials
businesses where he was responsible for all specialty materials
business. Mr. Neugold joined ATMI in January 1998 as NovaSource Vice-
President, subsequently becoming President. He was previously President
of Johnson-Matthey's Semiconductor Packages Group. Since 1982, Mr.
Neugold has worked in the electronics industry. He first sold capital
equipment and chemicals, then joined Johnson-Matthey as a Sales
Engineer. He moved up through the Johnson-Matthey ranks to Product
Manager (1987), Sales and Marketing Manager (1989), Business Manager
(1991), Director and General Manager of Singapore Operations (1993),
Director and General Manager of Asian Operations (1994), Vice President
of Semiconductor Packages Group (1995), to President of Semiconductor
Packages Group (1996). Mr. Neugold has a BSc degree from Clarkson
