DOUGLAS C. STAFFORD holds the position of President and Chief Executive
Officer at Ophidian Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a position he has held since
initiating its operations in August of 1990. He has been responsible for
various aspects of business administration with primary emphasis on
strategic planning, organizational development and corporate
development. Dr. Stafford was previously employed at the Baxter
Healthcare Corporation where he held senior management positions in
research and development and manufacturing operations at several of its
operating divisions (including the Travenol-Genentech, Dade and Pandex
divisions). Prior to Baxter, Dr. Stafford was employed at Sensor
Diagnostics, Inc. and held a faculty position in Immunology at the
University of Detroit. He received BS and MS degrees in Biology from the
University of Detroit, a Ph.D. in Immunology from the Tufts University
School of Medicine and a MS in Management from Lesley College. Profile
