DENNIS MINAMI is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and
Chief Financial Officer of Charles E. Smith Residential Realty, Inc. He
currently oversees property management operations and marketing services
for the company's portfolio which consists of 28,000 apartment units in
four cities, approximately 1,600 units under construction or subject to
pre-purchase agreements, and the furnished apartment operations. The
company and its subsidiaries own, acquire, develop, and manage
multifamily residential units in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia,
Chicago, Boston, and Southeast Florida. He is also responsible for the
company's corporate financing, including debt and equity, investor
relations, accounting, and information systems. Prior to joining Smith
in 1997, Mr. Minami was the Chief Financial Officer for Ascent
Entertainment Company where he was responsible for an $86 million
initial public offering spinoff of Ascent, which had been a wholly owned
subsidiary of Comsat Corporation. Formerly, he had served as the
Treasurer of Comsat Corporation. From 1985 to 1993, Mr. Smith held
several positions including Chief Financial Officer at Oxford Realty
Services Corporation, which developed and managed a portfolio of over
