DAVID WESSELINK is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
of Metris Companies. He is a 25-year veteran of the financial services
industry. He joined Household International in 1971, was appointed Chief
Financial Officer in 1982, and Senior Vice President in 1986. Before
coming to Metris, Mr. Wesselink was with ADVANTA, which he joined in
1993 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He holds
memberships in The Economic Club of Chicago, The Financial Executives
Institute, and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. He is a
recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the American Financial
Services Association. Mr. Wesselink is a graduate of Central College in
Pella, Iowa and earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from
