DAVID MANN is President and Chief Executive Officer of Emera Inc.
Mr. Mann is a prominent Nova Scotian corporate leader with a
reputation for his skills and experience in guiding major
industries through changing competitive and regulatory
environments. Prior to joining Emera, Mr. Mann was with the law
firm Cox Downie (now Cox Hanson O'Reilly Matheson) from 1967 to
1996. He acted as Managing Partner for 17 years, from 1974 to
1991, and saw the firm grow from six partners and one Associate
to become one of Nova Scotia's largest law firms. Mr. Mann
currently serves on the Boards of: Emera Inc.; Nova Scotia Power
Inc.; Emera Fuels (Chairman); Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline
LP/LLC; Atlantic Institute for Market Studies; Canadian
Electricity Association; The Foundation for Educational Exchange
Between Canada and the United States (the Canada-US Fulbright
Program); Greater Halifax Economic Development Partnership; and
Logistec Corporation. His community activities include: Chairman
of the Symphony Nova Scotia Foundation; Dalhousie School of
Business Advisory Board; Board of Directors for Atlantic Salmon
Federation; and Olympic Trust of Canada (Governor). Mr. Mann
holds a Master of Laws from the University of London, England;
Bachelor of Laws, from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova
Scotia; and a Bachelor of Commerce, Dalhousie University,
Halifax. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1982. Mr. Mann is a
