Dave Goldman attended McGill University and graduated in 1965 with a
degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He received an MBA from Concordia
University in 1980. Currently Executive Vice-President and Chief
Operating Officer of Noranda Inc., he joined Noranda in 1965 as a
Technical Assistant at the CCR Copper and Precious Metals Refinery in
Montreal East. After several interim positions, he was appointed Manager
of Production in 1974, became Manager of Operations in 1978, and General
Manager in 1981. In 1982, Mr. Goldman was named a Vice President of
Noranda Mines Ltd., responsible for the operations of the CCR Refinery.
In 1989, he moved to Toronto as Senior Vice-President responsible for
Metallurgical Operations, Noranda Minerals Inc. and in 1991, was
appointed Executive Vice President, Metallurgical Operations of Noranda
Minerals Inc. In October 1994, Mr. Goldman was made President and Chief
Executive Officer of Noranda Metallurgy Inc. In November 1997, Mr.
Goldman was appointed to his current position. Mr. Goldman is a Director
of Falconbridge Limited, Noranda Aluminum Inc., Tritech Precision Inc.,
Phoenix International Life Sciences Inc., the National Mining
Association and the International Council on Metals and the Environment.
Mr. Goldman is also a member of the Faculty of Engineering Advisory
