COLIN REED is Chief Financial Officer, a Director and a member of the
three-executive Office of the President for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.
He oversees Harrah's financial operations and is directly involved in
developing and executing Harrah's strategic plan, including capitalizing
on growth opportunities in new and existing gaming jurisdictions and
with Native American Tribes. Mr. Reed joined the company's predecessor
in 1977, as Financial Controller for the Holiday Inns International
Division, with accounting responsibilities for the company's hotel
operations in the United Kingdom. In 1981, Mr. Reed was named Director
of Finance and Administration, Holiday Inn International Division-
Europe, and in 1985 was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Holiday
Inns' Europe, Middle East and Africa Division. He moved to the company's
corporate headquarters in 1987 as Executive Assistant to the Chairman.
In 1992 he was promoted to Senior Vice President and assumed the
Executive Vice President title in 1995. He was named CFO in April 1997.
Before joining the company, Mr. Reed held various financial and
accounting positions with British firms, including Crest Hotels. He is a
fellow in the British Association of Hotel Accountants and is a member
of the Boards of Directors of National Airlines, ResortQuest
International, Inc., JCC Holding Company (Chairman) and Harrah's
