CHRISTOPHER T. SEAVER is President and Chief Executive Officer and a
member of the Board of Directors of Hydril Company. He has served as
President since June 1993 and as Chief Executive Officer and a Director
since February 1997. Mr. Seaver joined Hydril in 1985 and served as
Executive Vice President in charge of Hydril's premium connection and
pressure control businesses from 1991 until May 1993. Prior to joining
Hydril, Mr. Seaver was a corporate and securities attorney for Paul,
Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, and was a Foreign Service Officer in the
U.S. Department of State, with postings in Kinshasa, Republic of Congo
and Bogota, Colombia. Mr. Seaver graduated with honors in Economics from
Yale University in 1970, received Juris Doctorate and Master of Business
Administration degrees from Stanford University in 1979, and studied
Islamic history at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, from 1979 to
1980. Mr. Seaver is on the Board of Directors of the National Ocean
Industries Association and the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers
