CHARLES H. SHERWOOD is President and Chief Executive Officer of Anika
Therapeutics. Dr. Sherwood joined Anika in 1998, previously serving as
Vice President of Research, Development and Engineering. Earlier he was
Senior Director responsible for medical product development for Chiron
Vision. From 1982 to 1995, Dr. Sherwood was with IOLAB Corporation, a
division of Johnson and Johnson, which was acquired by Chiron in 1995,
serving most recently as Executive Director of Research and Development.
He has also held management positions with Hughes Aircraft Company and
Lord Corporation and was on the faculty at California State Polytechnic
University, Pomona. Dr. Sherwood holds a Doctorate and Master's degree
in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts,
a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, and
a Certificate in Management from Claremont Graduate School. Profile
