CHARLES MEHLHOUSE is a Vice President of Equity Investment for Fortis
Advisers, Inc., a diversified financial and insurance services company
based in the United States. Fortis Advisers is the money management arm
of the US operations of Fortis, managing a portfolio that includes
general account assets of Fortis insurance companies, as well as mutual
fund and variable annuity assets. Mr. Mehlhouse is responsible for the
Capital Fund, Fiduciary Fund, Growth and Income Fund, Asset Allocation
Fund (equity portion) and related annuity portfolios. He also has
portfolio responsibility for Amdura, a private outside account. Prior to
joining the company, he was a Vice President of M&I Investments in
Milwaukee from 1993 to 1996, Texas Commerce from 1987 to 1993 and
American Capital from 1983 to 1987, both in Houston. A Minnesota native,
Mr. Mehlhouse earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics and International
Relations from Macalester College in St. Paul and a Master's degree in
Political Science from Michigan State. He is a Chartered Financial
Analyst and a member of the AIMR and the Twin City Society of Security
Analysts. He is also a past member of the Milwaukee and Houston Analyst
