CARSON R. THOMPSON is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PawnMart,
Inc. Mr. Thompson joined Tandy Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas in 1957,
and held various management positions before becoming President of a
Tandy division in 1974. In 1975, Tandy Brands, Inc. was formed as a
spin-off from Tandy Corporation. He became a Vice President and Director
of Tandy brands in 1978, Executive Vice President in 1980, President and
Chief Operating Officer in 1981, and Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer in 1982. Tandy Brands, Inc. changed its name to The
Bombay Company, Inc. and he continued as Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer until 1991, when he retired as Chief Executive Officer. Mr.
Thompson continued as Chairman of The Bombay Company and became
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The CRT Group, Inc.
In 1996 he was re-appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of The
Bombay Company. In 1997 he resigned his position at Bombay and became
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PawnMart, Inc. Mr. Thompson is
also a member of the Board of Advisors of the College of Business
Administration at The University of Oklahoma; a member of the Advisory
Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth; a member of The
University of North Texas President's Council; and President of the
Board of Directors of MoonWater Theatre Company. Mr. Thompson received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Texas Wesleyan
University in Fort Worth, Texas in 1962, and was awarded the degree of
Doctor of Business and Finance, Honoris Causa, from Texas Wesleyan
