BRIAN BATES is President and Chief Operating Officer of TNS Inc. He has
more than 20 years of telecommunications and point-of-services (POS)
experience. In 1990, he was a founding employee of TNS, and since then,
he has been instrumental in shaping the company's direction. Today, as
President and COO of TNS, Mr. Bates leads the company in executing
against its strategic vision and oversees day-to-day operations of the
business. Mr. Bates rejoined TNS after a brief stint as PaylinX
Corporation's President and COO. Previously, during his decade-long
career at TNS, he played a vital role in developing the POS business
from a concept to a multimillion-dollar transaction carrier. His
positions included Executive Vice President and General Manager of TNS'
POS Division and Vice President of Sales. Earlier in his career, Mr.
Bates was a Regional Sales Manager at Digital Radio Networks, where he
managed sales and distribution. He also worked in commercial sales at
Sprint Communications. Mr. Bates earned a BS in Economics from the
