BLAINE E. HURST is Vice Chairman and President of Papa John's
International , Inc. since 1996 and was promoted to Vice Chairman in
February 1998. Prior to that time, Mr. Hurst was Executive Vice
president and Chief Administrative Officer of Papa John's, having joined
the company in February 1995 to establish the Information Systems
function. Mr. Hurst has helped bring Papa John's into the information
age, including overseeing the development and implementation of a
proprietary point of sale restaurant operating system throughout the
company. As President, Mr. Hurst is responsible for Corporate
Restaurants, U.S. Development, International Development, Corporate
Communications, the People Department (including Human Resources,
Education and Training), Marketing and Operations Services, Franchise
Sales and Operations, Information Systems, and Finance and Accounting.
During his tenure with the company, Papa John's has grown from 632
restaurants in 20 states to more than 2,000 restaurants in 47 states and
