Robert E. Farr was appointed President and CEO of Bank of Birmingham in July 2006 after playing an instrumental role in the bank's founding. A member of the bank's board of directors, Mr. Farr has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, over two decades of which have been in the Birmingham/Bloomfield market. Mr. Farr's extensive banking experience, strong background in the bank's market area and sterling record on developing, building and managing banking relationships, along with his documented leadership skills, allow him to successfully lead the bank's management team. Previously Mr. Farr served as Regional Director of Private Banking in Michigan for TCF Bank from 2001 to 2003, helping launch that service before leaving to organize the bank. Prior to that, he served from 1997 to 2000 as the Regional Director of Private Banking in Eastern Michigan and as a Senior Lender for Fifth Third Bank, formerly Old Kent Bank. Mr. Farr began his banking career in 1978 at Michigan National Bank of Detroit as a Loan Officer and Credit Analyst, and has also held officer-level positions at National Bank of Detroit, Metrobank, Comerica Bank and Michigan National Bank.
