BERNARD GILLY, PH.D. is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Transgene. Dr. Gilly was formerly Executive Vice President, Corporate
Research and Development at bioMerieux Alliance. He also served as
Executive Vice President, Research and Development at Pasteur Merieux
Serums et Vaccins, a subsidiary of Institut Merieux. Dr Gilly has also
been director at Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon since 1995 and Vice
Chairman of France Biotech, the French Biotechnology Industry
