B. JEFFREY KATZ joined Atmel Corp. as its Vice President of Marketing in
1988. In its twelve year history, Atmel has grown to become the
industry's largest supplier of EEPROM non-volatile memory
semiconductors, and a leading supplier of other semiconductors. Mr.
Katz was Atmel's first marketing officer and developed the Company's
marketing capabilities and staff. Previously he had been Vice President
of Marketing and Sales at Mosaic Systems, a now-defunct multichip module
maker. He worked for 11 years at Intel Corp. where he held a variety of
positions ranging from Applications Manager to Division Marketing,
Director to Operations, General Manager. His Intel experience includes
working on the original 8086 product introduction and the successfully
fought microprocessor wars' of the early 1980s. His early career was as
a computer system designer and design manager at Unisys and Systems
Engineering Laboratories (now Encore Computers). Mr. Katz received his
BS degree in Computer Engineering from Case Western University in 1966,
and has done graduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science at University of Minnesota and University of California at
Irvine. He is married, has two children and resides in Saratoga, CA. Profile
