ARTHUR H. KEENEY III is President and CEO of ECB Bancorp, Inc., and
President/CEO and a Director of The East Carolina Bank (ECB), a $500
million, 20-branch state chartered bank headquartered in Engelhard,
North Carolina. He has held that position since 1995. Mr. Keeney
graduated in 1968 from the University of Hartford with a BS degree
(magna cum laude) in Accounting. He entered the banking arena in 1970
after receiving an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, University of
Pennsylvania. He progressed to higher levels of responsibility and
leadership in several large regional banks in Michigan, Connecticut and
Maryland prior to joining ECB. A former member of the North Carolina
State Banking Commission, Mr. Keeney is also a Board member of The
Northeast Economic Development Commission, The North Carolina Aquarium
Society, FoR ENC, The Eastern 4-H Conference Center, The Greater Hyde
County Chamber of Commerce, The Coastal Studies Institute Foundation and
The Beaufort County Community College Foundation, among others. He also
currently serves as President of both the Pocosin Arts and the Engelhard
Rotary Club and Vice Chairman of both The Mattamuskeet Foundation and
the Albemarle-Pamlico Economic Development Corporation. Profile
