ANTHONY M. MARAMARCO is Managing Director at Babson Capital Management
LLC where he is lead manager of the Babson Value Fund and Shadow Stock
Fund. He began his career in investments as an Analyst at Connecticut
National Bank in 1981, moved to MassMutual in 1985, and joined the David
L. Babson Company when Concert Capital Management (an equity management
subsidiary of MassMutual) merged with Babson in 1996. He is a member of
the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Hartford Society of
Financial Analysts. He served as President of the Hartford Society in
1991-1992 and was a regional representative of the Association for
Investment Management and Research from 1992 to 1994. Dr. Maramarco
graduated from Colby College in 1971, received his MA in 1973 and PhD in
1977 from the University of Chicago. He earned his MBA from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in 1981. He was awarded the Chartered Financial
Analyst designation in 1988. Dr. Maramarco taught graduate courses in
Investments, Finance and Accounting at the Hartford and Groton campuses
of RPI from 1985 to 1999. He also developed and taught review courses in
Ethics, Portfolio Management and Equity Analysis for the Hartford
Society's CFA program from 1990 to 1998. He is a frequent guest on
CNBC's and Bloomberg TV's Market Watch and 'stock-picking' programs. He
has also appeared on Reuters TV and has been quoted extensively in many
