ANTHONY M. MARLON, M.D. is founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of Sierra Health Services, Inc., a diversified health
care and insurance company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. The roots
of Sierra Health Services can be traced to Dr. Marlon's cardiology
practice, which he established in 1972. Today, the company employs
nearly 3,000 people and operates health maintenance organizations,
medical groups, workers' compensation insurers, a health and life
indemnity insurance company, and a military health services
organization, which was recently awarded a $1.5 billion contract to
provide health care to TRICARE beneficiaries in the northeast and
Washington, D.C., Dr. Marlon completed his internship, residency and
cardiology fellowship at Stanford University from 1967 to 1972. He
relocated to Las Vegas to become Chief of Cardiology at University
Medical Center of southern Nevada, a position he held from 1972 to 1985. Profile
