ANTHONY J. LEY has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since
the founding of Harmonic, Inc. in 1988. Mr. Ley was elected Chairman of
the Board of Directors in February 1995. From 1963 to 1987, Mr. Ley was
employed at Schlumberger, both in Europe and the United States, holding
various business management and research and development positions.
These included that of President, Schlumberger Montrouge Research, the
Schlumberger research center in Paris, for seven years, and as Vice
President, Research and Engineering at Fairchild
Semiconductor/Schlumberger in Palo Alto, California from 1983 to 1987.
Mr. Ley holds an MA in Mechanical Sciences from the University of
Cambridge and an SMEE from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is
named as an inventor on 29 patents and is a Fellow of the IEE (UK) and a
senior member of the IEEE. Profile
