Robert J. Eck was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Anixter International Inc. in July 2008. He held the position of Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of the company from September 2007 to June 2008. Mr. Eck previously held the position of Executive Vice President of the enterprise cabling and security solutions for Anixter. The group focuses on technical support, supply chain services and products to support customers' voice, data, video and security systems. In this role, Mr. Eck had responsibility for global customer programs and strategy for the group's business worldwide. He joined Anixter in April 1989 and during his tenure with the company, he has held several executive positions including Senior Vice President - Supply Chain Solutions and Regional Vice President.
