ANDREW N. BAUR is the Chairman and CEO of Mississippi Valley Bancshares,
Inc. Mr. Baur began his banking career in 1967 as a Management Trainee
at First National Bank of Atlanta where he was elected an Officer in
1970 and later became Vice President in charge of the Commercial Loan
division. In 1974, he joined Commerce Bank of St. Louis as President and
left as Chairman of the Board and President in 1978. He then became
Chairman and CEO of County Bank of St. Louis, and President and COO of
its holding company, County Tower Corp., positions he held from 1978 to
1984, when he led the group that purchased Southwest Bank. He currently
is the bank's largest shareholder. Mr. Baur received an AB degree from
Washington and Lee University in 1966 and an MBA from Georgia State
