ANDREW N. BAUR purchased Southwest Bank of St. Louis in October
1984. he is the Chairman and CEO of the bank and of its holding
company, Mississippi Valley Bancshares, Inc. Prior to joining
Mississippi he was Chairman and CEO of County Bank of St. Louis
and President and COO of County Tower Corp., its holding company;
he entered as President and left as Chairman of Commerce Bank of
St. Louis; he entered as a Commercial Banking Officer and left as
Vice President in charge of the commercial loan division of
Mercantile Trust Company, N.A. and he began as a Management
Trainee for First National Bank of Atlanta, where he was elected
an Officer in 1969. Mr. Baur has an AB degree from Washington &
Lee University, and an MBA degree from Georgia State University. Profile
TWST: Could we start out with a brief historical sketch ofMississippi Valley Bancshares, Inc., and then a picture of what
you are doing at the present time?
Mr. Baur: We're a three-bank
