ALEX DAVERN is the CFO/CIO at National Instruments Corporation.
Since joining the company in 1994, he has been instrumental in
setting up the company's centralized European administrative and
product distribution operations in Dublin, Ireland; implementing
the company's Oracle system worldwide; and leading many cross-
functional teams including the Euro implementation and Y2K
preparation. Mr. Davern is responsible for all Finance, IS,
Facilities and Investor Relations activities worldwide. Prior to
joining NI, Mr. Davern worked for Price Waterhouse, both in
Europe and in the United States. He holds an undergraduate degree
in Business Studies and a post-graduate diploma in Professional

What has gone on over the past year or so that the investors
should focus on?
Mr. Davern: NI has performed very well during the
