Dr. Kaveh Safavi, M.D., is a Managing Director at Accenture. He also is the company’s health industry lead for North America. He oversees the payer, provider and public health offerings and is responsible for Accenture’s health strategy, growth initiatives and market capabilities. Dr. Safavi joined the company from Cisco Systems, Inc., in 2011, where he led the global health care practice. Before that, he was Thomson Reuter’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Businesses and United HealthCare Services, Inc.’s Vice President of Medical Affairs. Dr. Safavi also has served in leadership roles at Solucient, Humana, HealthSpring and Alexian Hospital Network. He brings more than two decades of leadership experience to Accenture Health. Dr. Safavi has published numerous papers and is quoted on health care issues inThe Wall Street Journal,The New York Times andThe Economist. He earned a medical degree from Loyola University School of Medicine and a law degree from DePaul University College of Law.
