Thomas M. Kolbeck

THOMAS M. KOLBECK is Vice Chairman and Deputy CEO of DEPFA BANK plc (Dublin); Chairman of the Supervisory Board – DEPFA Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (Frankfurt); Director DEPFA Capital Japan K.K. (Tokyo); Member of the Board of Directors DEPFA USA, Inc. (New York); Chairman and CEO DEPFA Investment Bank Limited (Nicosia). Prior to becoming Vice Chairman of DEPFA BANK, T. Kolbeck was a Member of the Board of Managing (Vorstand) of Deutsche Pfandbrief-und Hypothenkenbank AG and Aareal Bank AG, in Wiesbaden, Germany, and a Member of the Board of Directors of DePfa Bank Europe, Plc from January 1997 until June 2002. During his term there, T. Kolbeck oversaw the establishment of DEPFA Investment Bank Limited, and the banks Special Finance Unit which have established themselves as a major player in converging Europe. Prior to joining DEPFA BANK, T. Kolbeck began his banking career at Westdeutsche Landesbank in 1981 at its International Division in Dsseldorf, Germany. During his 16-year tenure with Westdeutsche Landesbank, T. Kolbeck amassed extensive expertise in the emerging markets via positions he held in several of its global offices, including Director and General Manager of the Latin American Office in New York; General Manager in Milano, as well as a Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Westdeutsche Landesbank (Europe) Finanziaria SpA; General Manager of a Project Team Eastern Europe in Dsseldorf; General Manager of the Istanbul and Izmir offices in Turkey, Rotterdam, Netherlands and Brussels, Belgium. In the latter three years with Landesbank, T. Kolbeck relocated to Dsseldorf, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale. T. Kolbeck holds a degree in Law from the University of Bonn and a PhD in Law from the University of Kiel, Germany.
