Douglas Tengdin is Chief Investment Officer at Charter Trust Company. Mr. Tengdin graduated from Dartmouth College, magna cum laude. He received his Master of Arts from Trinity Divinity School, magna cum laude, and received his Chartered Financial Analyst — CFA — designation in 1992. Mr. Tengdin has been managing investment portfolios for over 30 years, working for Bank of Boston, State Street Global Advisors, Citibank – Tunisia, and Banknorth Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Tengdin has emphasized helping clients manage their financial risks in difficult environments where they can profit from investing in diverse assets in diverse settings. Mr. Tengdin has had a long-standing commitment to the investment profession. He was the founding President of the Vermont CFA Institute and is an active member of the national CFA Institute. He has served on their Candidate Curriculum Committee and as a grader for the prestigious CFA Exam. He has a daily market commentary, the Global Market Update, which airs every weekday morning on WTPL-FM 107.7. The Global Market Update is also published as a blog and a podcast. He appears on a weekly radio program Friday afternoons on WTPL as well. Mr. Tengdin has been a guest lecturer at the University of Vermont, Champlain College and the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Mr. Tengdin has been with Charter since 2000. He was promoted to Chief Investment Officer in 2002. He leads a team of eight investment professionals.
