Steven L. Groot

STEVEN L. GROOT is President of Allstate International, Chairman of the
Board and President of Allstate International Insurance Holdings, Inc.,
and a member of Allstate Insurance Company’s senior management team. He
also serves as Executive Sponsor of Allstate’s Internet and call center
initiatives. Mr. Groot began his career with Allstate in 1970. He has
held numerous positions, including Regional Vice President of the
Rochester Region, President of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, and
Vice President of Pricing, Personal Lines Auto, for Allstate Insurance
Company. In 1994, he was promoted to President of Allstate Indemnity
Company from his position of Group Vice President. He was named to his
current position in October 1998. Mr. Groot graduated from Michigan
Technological University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business
Administration and studied law at Lincoln University and LaSalle
Extension University of Chicago.
