Steven J. Reid

STEVEN J. REID, CFA is the Portfolio Manager of The Oakmark Small Cap
Fund, a Senior Investment Analyst and a Partner of Harris Associates
L.P., a Chicago-based investment management firm that serves as the
adviser to The Oakmark Family of Funds. Reid uses a disciplined bottom-
up research process to identify small cap opportunities that are
underfollowed and undervalued. He looks for companies that have small
market capitalizations that are selling at sizable discounts and are run
by managements tied to growing the value of the business. Reid has
appeared on CNBC and has been featured in several financial
publications. Reid joined Harris Associates as an accountant in 1980 and
has been an investment analyst since 1985. He holds a B.A. in Business
from Roosevelt University (1979) and holds the distinction of Chartered
Financial Analyst.
