Steve Markman

STEVE MARKMAN joined General Magic, Inc. as Chairman, CEO and President
in September 1996. Previously, he was Executive Vice President and
General Manager of the Novell Products Group. Prior to joining Novell in
1994, Markman was vice president of engineering at First Pacific
Networks, a principal at Venture Consulting, senior vice president and
general manager at Network Equipment Technologies (N.E.T.) and CEO at
Adaptive Corporation, a subsidiary of N.E.T. Markman’s career began in
1967 at AT&T Bell Laboratories. In 1986, he joined Hewlett-Packard
Company and ultimately was appointed general manager of the Information
Networks Division in 1990. Markman holds a Ph.D. in electrophysics from
Polytechnic University, New York.
