Robert W. Winston

ROBERT W. WINSTON is the Chief Executive Officer of Winston Hotels,
Inc., a Raleigh-based real estate investment trust which specializes in
the acquisition, development and rehabilitation of hotel properties. He
is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr.
Winston previously spent three years with the New York Brokerage house
of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette and then spent three years with
Hampton Inns Corporation, where he was directly involved in the
management of several hotels. He founded Winston Hospitality, Inc., a
hotel management company, in 1991 and developed the Courtyard by
Marriott in Wilmington, North Carolina, and the Homewood Suites Hotel in
Cary, North Carolina, prior to the Winston Hotels, Inc.
