Robert J. Palmisano

ROBERT J. PALMISANO joined Summit Technology in April 1997 as Chief
Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Before joining
Summit, Palmisano was President of the Eyewear Division of Bausch &
Lomb, Inc. Under Palmisano management the revenues of the eyewear
businesses grew from $67 million in 1987 to $600 million in 1995. Prior
to his tenure at Bausch & Lomb, from 1984 through 1996, Palmisano was a
Corporate Vice President, Human Resources and a Board Member at
International Playtex, Inc. from 1981 until 1984. Before joining
International Playtex, he spent eight years as the Senior Director of
Human Resources and Training at Dunkin’ Donuts of America, Inc. and six
years in marketing at Mobil Oil Corporation. Palmisano holds a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Providence College.
