Robert A. Young

ROBERT A. YOUNG, III is the President and Chief Executive Officer of
Arkansas Best Corporation. Mr. Young has worked for the company for 37
years, holding various management positions at Arkansas Best and at its
subsidiaries, ABF Freight System, Inc., and Data-Tronics Corporation.
Mr. Young became the President of Arkansas Best in 1973 and added the
responsibility of Chief Executive Officer of Arkansas Best in August
1988. In addition, Mr. Young was the President of ABF from 1979 until
1994.
